BC and all dog owners: Please read this.

I just heard a terrible, terrible story. My geologist's black lab got into some grapes. He ate probably a pound of grapes. He started to go downhill over the next couple of days. Gary took Marcel to the vet. The vet did bloodwork and said "This dog has kidney failure." He was referred to an acute care specialist who put Marcel on dialysis. $11,000 later he had to put Marcel down. Grapes are toxic to dogs' kidneys. Don't let your dog anywhere near grapes.

Yeah,

Grapes are pretty bad for pets. In short, rule of thumb, feed only good organic dog food

Thank you, George!!!!!

I had no idea grapes were toxic to dogs. My dogs don't get grapes except now and then when one falls to the floor, and they like them too. I will be careful from now on. Thanks George.

I also read that grapes can cause dogs to lose their vision.

Potato

:bs: cooked/mashed potatoes are great for dogs, it's only in the green skin/sprouts of the potato skin where the poisonous solanum lies.

the rest of the list is pretty darn comprehensive.

yup grapes are very bad for dog only if they eat many (7-10 grapes). My dad accidentally gave my yorkie 1 grape and I went crazy. She turns out to be OK. The first sign of dog having kidney failure is when they drink accessive amount of water, just watch out for that.

Gary raises guide dogs. Guide dogs in training go everywhere with their "owners," including restaurants. Marcel came to many of my drilling jobs. Marcel flunked out of guide dog school so Gary got him back. Gary was extremely attached to him.

My boss raises guide dogs. It must be tough to get attached to a dog then have send it on its way after training, but it is for a good cause.

lol What?

Grapes are bad for dogs means: don't feed your dog grapes.

:D

Also, poultry is fine for dogs.
