Default California Vacation?

Whats going on guys,

I am the owner of an ap2 from the Chicagoland Area, and I am coming at to California later this month (Sept 18th-23rd) and just wanted to get some recommendations of the top roads to cruise, and top spots to check out while in town? Ill be Driving from LA to San Fransisco and back. this is purely a driving trip, no need for the typical touristy spots.

Sign up for RMurhpy's EOQ drive. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/115...in-sun-sep-18/

I've never been due to being busy with other things on those weekends, but I hear it's a lot of fun.

Mulholland Drive. Favorite road from Mulholland to coast is Decker Canyon Road.

I would avoid PCH near Big Sur as the Soberanes fire is still raging. Not sure when it'll be contained but when I went last month (early on when the fire just started) you couldn't see anything on PCH, just smoke.
