EOQ Drive Status updates
Hi All!
As many of you know, we decided to move the organizing of the EOQ Drives over to FaceBook almost a year ago and that is working out great for ease of use. Our 2016 drives to Palomar/Julian, Ojai, and Malibu have all been successful and we only expect to continue that trend well into the future. We haven't worked out specifics for our fourth quarter (Q4) drive yet because we've been so busy putting together the private Honda Museum tour event coming up! Wahoo! But we should have something up about the Q4 drive soon on FB.
Since we've centralized organizing these drives on FB I recommend if you want to hear more about them, you should consider joining the group. Here are instructions on how to do that and more information about The EOQ Drive Group:
The EOQ Drive Group – https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheEOQDrive/ we are a car-centric group of people who participate in organized drives in the canyons and scenic roads of southern California on the last Sunday of every quarter (March, June, September, and December). We also organize groups for occasional track days. We encourage the responsible enjoyment of sportscars and driving. And we have T-shirts! Bright red ones that say “I<heart>EOQ Drive!”
We have some fairly typical rules for the group. Basically, the rules are a lot like the Safety Nazi speech -- "don't be stupid." Oh, and don't flake! If you say you are going to an event, you better go, or change your RSVP to not going before the deadline. If you flake, we drop you from the group. It's that simple.
There are FOUR steps to join this group and attend drives:
1) request to join the closed group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheEOQDrive/
2) read your private messages (be sure to look at the "message requests" messages and/or the "other" inbox for messages where messages from non-friends go to hide) and WRITE an actual reply because until you acknowledge the rules of the group with a typed reply (not just an "accept this message") you won't get accepted to the group.
3) add/rsvp yourself to a drive group EVENT once you are in the group.
4) do not flake and do not just show up without having RSVP'd. A lot of planning goes into these drives and they only go smoothly if everybody shows up who says they will show up and everybody who plans to show up RSVPs in advance. Oh... and MAYBES are universally abhorred. Don't even go there.
And while I abhor being repetitious, I'm going to repeat that part about you have to actually respond to the PM you get saying you read the rules. We send the Facebook PM within 24 hours of receiving any add request. If you requested to join the group and haven't received a PM back, you need to check your messages, including message requests or the "other" inbox in Facebook.
