Default Fuel System Cleaners

And how would you know? Im thinking about buying it but don't want to waste my money for no reason. I was thinking about just changing out the fuel filter and dropping some redline fuel system cleaner in there.. What do you guys think of system cleaners?

Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner is what I've used and recommend.
Just be sure you have close to a full tank of gas when adding.

Do you add the cleaner first then get gas or add it after you fill up the tank ?

you dont need to add fuel injector cleaner if you pour chevron gas already... it already has the additive already in the gas...

That's true considering you pump Chevron on the regular instead of switching around to lower grade fuels.
You're still not getting the same amount and potency as adding the bottle of the Techron treatment into your tank so it helps to use the bottle once in a while for a more thorough cleaning.

Thats a good point about switching around to other brands. Techron is a pretty aggressive fuel injector cleaner so i really dont think adding another bottle will do much of a difference. Also it takes time for these fuel injector cleaners to work properly. Recommended to run them through your engine for roughly 500-1000miles (3-5gastanks)

Shell Vpower is also another choice for cleaning additives that help out..

but the question of whether it is really necessary to use these additional fuel cleaners is not very conclusive
