Got registration and smog request, but car's in KC, MO
 

Can't physically smog the car here in so cal so what can I do? I also don't think it would pass this year as it barely passed last time with my intake/cat/exhaust (although carb certified).

Ideally I'd like to keep my CA plates/reg but not sure if that's possible.

As far as I know the car has to be here to complete smog. 1 year after your tags expire, you have 6 months to complete it otherwise your car can be towed (At least in Cali). You could also wait a year and register as non-op or get it done in Montana.

EDIT: After going through the ca dmv website found out that there's a form called the 'statement of facts' which you fill out if your car is out of state and they send your tags and whatnot there.

That's good to know... so you don't have to smog it at all? or do you have to smog it in KC?
