GripWerks/SFV Chat Thread
I have to take back my recommendation for Mike's (see below). I made an appointment, they quoted me a price ($79) and told me about 1 hr. When I got there, the person who attended to me was not the same individual as last time. He said it was a complex job because my car was on coilovers (almost stock height), it was going to take about 2 hours, and it was going to cost about $175 because it wasn't just an adjustment--after all, I was asking for 8 things!! I was asking for a 4 wheel alignment, which should include a toe alignment (6 adjustments that are part of the 4-wheel alignment). I don't see what the difference is whether I want -.5 or -2.5 camber (the car is going to be driven on a track). The ONLY extra thing I was asking for was to make sure the caster was at 5.5-6 degrees, and other places didn't charge me extra for that. Then he proceeded to tell me that my car would be undrivable in the street, blah blah blah. Forget this place.
I'm going to try JMP.

Are you looking for an alignment? If so, I like Mike's Frame and Alignment in Canoga Park. They're sort of old school but really good. He does a lot of track cars. Some people like Valley Pacific too. I only went there once but was turned off by one tech (manager?) who kept on trying to talk me into the alignment HE wanted to get on my car, not what I had specified. Strange... I still can't figure out why he did that.
I just had my CR aligned yesterday with JMP Autowerkz. I can't recommend Jerick enough when it comes to Alignments and Corner Balancing. He is also very comfortable working on S2000's and has done some work for me over the last few years with no issues. He also tracks himself which is a huge plus.
Living in the Valley it's so hard to find a good reputable shop... JMP Autowerkz and Mid-Valley Auto (Tony Fuchs) are just about our only options.

I'm sure the info is buried somewhere in the 1000 pages of this thread, and I wish I had time to go through each page, but I don't. Can someone recommend a good body shop in the SFV? Experience with painting CF. TIA
I had some work done at Twin's Autobody a few years ago... Lately i've been taking my car to Wrecked LA Autobody. They did some paint work on my M3 and i didn't have any complaints.
We meet every other Thursday in Granada Hills.
Starbucks on the corner of Zelzah/Chatsworth. Looks like were meeting tomorrow night.
