How much gas will I save
 

....were to go back completely stock (except for the suspension). Which will then mean that I take off my greddy ti-c and 18" ssr sp1's.

Just curious, don't think i'll do it, but thats what I've been pondering about ever since we went over the $4.00 mark on gas.

i doubt your losing mpg with the greddy since it doesnt produce any horsepower. as for the wheels, thats debatable.

yeah i didn't think it was much either. While considering to sell my wheels, I took a good look at them and fell back in love haha.

If anything, going back to stock exhaust will make the gas mileage worse. On top of that the stock exhuast weighs more.

Intake, header nor exhaust will make you use more gas. These things make your car more efficient and should give you better mileage.

Your driving habits have more of an impact.

My 2003 is all stock. If you're driving on the freeway at about 65mph you should be getting around 30mpg. However on city streets you'll only get in the low twenties.

I usually fill my tank up after the last tick on the fuel gage has disappeared. That's about the 10.5 - 11 gal mark.

*If I drive nothing but drive city streets I usually get somewhere between 200 -220 range out of a tank of gas. So that mean 20-22 mpg.

*If I drive nothing but freeway miles the max range I've received from a tank of gas was 350 miles. This was on trip from Manhattan Beach to San Jose, with one stop for coffee. When I reached SJ I filled my tank with about 11 to 11.5 gals. So that was about 30.4 to 31.8 mpg. I just drove the speed limit the whole way.

*When I drive in mixed conditions I'm usually getting about 250- 280 mile range from a tank.

If your mileage is anything like mine than your mods are probably fine.


Also, as S2k dreams mentioned the millage you get from your car really depends on your driving style. If you're giving it the beans :vtec: out of every corner your mpg is going down the toilet. Driving without hard acceleration will keep your mpg up. If you constantly fluctuate the gas pedal (pulse), this will also lower your mpg. Try to keep your speed constant.

Spare tire and tool set out.
Tires set at 36psi

Just don't vtec and you will see an improvement in MPG. Top up makes a big difference also.
