IPOD specialist --PLEASE CHIME IN
I'm not very IPOD savy, so if you can lend me a hand it would be great. Here is my case:
I bought a used IPOD (lets call it IPOD A)
I've been "importing" all my CD's from Computer A.
Now here is the question:
Mrs. BC got some Mp3's on her computer, COMPUTER B.
Can I hook my IPOD A which was onky using Computer A, to Mrs. BC Computer B, and...
#1 Still retain all my Cd's and NOT erase everything I have on it now?
Thanks again, NEWBIE here.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the anwser is OK, then my second question:
Once I hit Itunes, I click on the files, "add folder" to her MP3 Folder.
Now do I just hit "sync" to sync those mp3 to my Ipod?
I've been only doing "import" the entire CD... so I'm not sure.
Save the flames....
Thanks again.
Newbie,
BC

I don't think so. When my laptop, in this case Computer A, went kaput I started using my new laptop, computer B, to transfer songs to my iPod. Basically it formated everything, even my pictures. So I lost all my pictures and songs that I didn't have backed up on an external drive. Oh well...
I would think it'd just be easier to copy the MP3s from B to A. That's my solution to your problem. :-)

Depends on the ipod you have. You can do it, you just have to not sync the ipod with the new itunes library. there is an option at the bottom that you have to check that lets you MANUALLY manage your ipod. As long as you dont sync the ipod with the new itunes library, you WILL NOT lose what you have on you ipod. I do this with my computer at home and work.
If it is a shuffle however, you do not get to choose.
Hope i helped

I would be alot easier if I burned all the Mp3 from Mrs. BC computer on a disc and put it in my computer huh?

No just do it how Jason said, and don't sync but do it manually. Then hit edit-select all, and drag everything into your ipod instead of one by one

i think it's best to have all the songs on the computer you will be syncing to the most. that way you can create playlists. get and external hard drive and transfer. keep the songs on that hard drive as back up
