Moving to LA soon! Security question
Hey guys, I'll be moving to LA soon so wanted to give everyone a big whats up.
Also, I started having growing concerns about the security of my car. Most neighborhoods I've looked at show stolen vehicles in trulia. Am I being overly pre-cautious are are there some measures I should take since my car would most likely be parked out on the street.
Thanks guys!

Where are you moving to? Is your car modded or stock? it really depends on the area, I see the same street parked s2ks for the past few years and nothing has happened to them.

Enclosed garage!
Honestly, leaving an S2000 parked and exposed on the street or in any car-port at an apartment complex etc. is asking for trouble in my opinion. A secure enclosed garage + additional anti theft measures are almost mandatory these days.

i haven't heard of too many S2000's being outright stolen, mostly broken into via slashed top or vandalized. Just make sure to have full coverage or get a garage. Most likely the only thing to worry about would be front and rear bumper damage from parking all around LA.

I live in Ktown, and we have some s2ks whom street park. Just like Chris said; most cars are broken into, or vandalized by having soft tops cut.
although little can beat a garage. It really comes down to where you live, and leave the car. Silverlake is up the road from me, and i can tell you those hipsters care more about gluten than they
care about cars.
you also chose three cities that have some of the worst traffic conditions, and street parking.

I used to live in ktown but ended up moving to fullerton. Luckily i had a community garage while i was in ktown but it still sucked. I got so many door dings and front/rear bumpers all chipped and dinged from parallel parkers on the street. Oh and you gotta be careful of valet parkers as well. They tore up my steering wheel getting in n out of my car with keys in their pockets. Also scratch up your exhaust or front lip on curbs since they like to park cars all the way up against curbs. I now have my own 2car garage but now my commute to work can take up to 2hrs each way if i drive -__- metrolink train and subways ftw
