Default roommate (renter) and home insurance policy

i tried to google but it was flooded by renters insurance information

i am wondering how much having a renter (in terms of having a roommate and not renting out the house) affects home owners insurance.

thanks

renters insurance is pretty cheap for the most part..

renters insurance cost about 10-13 bucks a month..depending on the area that you live in..just because you have home owners doesnt mean your renters cant have renters insurance.. in fact, its highly recommended.

it wouldnt make sense to have a claim under your name in case your roommate or his friends come over and mess something up that needed repairs/lawsuit.

ps..i work for state farm..feel freee to hit me up if you have any more questions
