Default Speeding Ticket - county has no record of it

So I've done some research on my ticket and it's pretty solid. I reported about this mid June as it was a motorcycle cop running laser.

So in the meantime I figured I can at least do traffic school. I never got a notice so I call the courthouse and go online, and in the computer databases there is no record of my DL # having a citation, or of a citation matching my ticket number.

Has anyone else ever encountered this? I doubt I would "slip throught the cracks" since this is major revenue for the county. I'm not sure what to do.

The con in me doesn't want to fess up just to get my traffic court, but I don't want to be a dumbass either and have this come back to haunt me....

very strange......

Keep calling to see if it turns up. I don't think it will. Without a court record, the ticket never happened, I think you're cool here, Wicky.

That's interesting.

Is all of the info correct on your copy of the ticket, or did the cop make an error?

everything is correct.

The ticket# isn't in the database and there are no citations on my Drivers License number. Weird.

i say you are one lucky person! just lay back and relax until you see the notice in the mail, but i doubt that it will come since the database doesnt even have any record of your citation. i need some of your luck...

Just make sure you get and keep records of the courts, databases and anywhere else you have checked, this way when it pops up in the system and they issue a warrant cause its over due you will be covered. Courts will tell you its your responabilty to check into the situation, this way you can prove that you made the effort.

Happened to a friend of mine. She never got a notice and there was no record of it.

This was in Hacienda Heights.

I don't want to sound negative but don't get to the thinking that you got out of the ticket just yet. Look on the ticket and it should have a court date on it. If that court date passes then your clear, but until then, just keep waiting. I got a ticket once and the cop waited to the last minute to turn it in, and I didn't get a notice from the court until about a week before I was supposed to go to court.

yeah that just happened to me. They have one year to get you if they cant get you within a year, then you are clear. Thats the rule. Just keep calling and seeing but if they ask you your ticket number or for what your violation was just make up something minor, and say you lost the ticket. so they can't track it.. They finally found my ticket... sucks but oh well. yeah but what it means is that the officer didnt turn the ticket into the court. so you may luck out but keep your eyes peeled, cause if they find the ticket and they dont contact you they will issue a warrant so just be careful for that and good luck to you.

The court didn't get my ticket till late either. I had to get an extension. Sooner or later it will show up at the courthouse.
