Default Star smog

Do anyone have a suggestion as to where I can take my S to get star smog in the inland empire ? I have an exhaust system but I'm sure I can pass smog with that. Correct me if I'm wrong tho ! Thanks in advance !

you can pass smog with a catback. You will need to have a oem cat installed.
I know some members will claim they passed with a HFC. but i personally would just install the oem cat if you do not have it on.

What happens if you don't take it to a "Star" station?

If your smog form states "star" smog. then you have to go to a star smog station. Others wont even do it and deny you.

i still have my oem cat. So I'm really not worried about not being able to pass smog. What I am worried about is trusting these little smog shops with my S

whats there to not trust? It's just smog. It's not like they take it out for a test drive during smog.

When I had my EP3, I took it to a local mom and pop shop and they did a normal smog for me even though I was supposed to go to a Star station. I don't go to that shop anymore, so I'm alone this time around when its time for smog this year.

either no, you were not required to do a star or something wrong happened. My friends dad does smog and his scanner will not read a star smog form. As his shop and standard shops are not bar certified.

tons of info on their website: https://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/FormsPu...k_Program.html

Yeah. From what I heard the DMV in Sacramento knows if the station is Star or not. All smog reports go directly to them, from the station.

What do they do different at the Star stations? Anything more than a sniffer test and visual inspection?
