Agree, I found out after asking around that its extremely common to get ref'ed with non-correctable violations pertaining to the exhaust or similar components as of late.

my s2000 is boosted running full 3 inch exhaust with no cat running an AEM stand alone computer. I been driving these type of illegal modded cars in los angeles my whole life since i started driving at 2001. But i got first and hopefully my last ticket to see the state ref ticket at arcadia next to where i pump e85. this was a few years ago. The option with to put the car back to stock and see the state ref or pay a i think it was a $500-600 fine and not de mod my car. I should have just paid the fine as its just way easier. i spent a day to de mod my car to pass the ref and another day to put my mods back on. But it cost i think almost $200 just to see the ref and run all the test so its way better to just pay the fine. They are super strict too. The guy wanted to fail me because i was running an after market blue an rubber push lock house for the pcv breather.

What new law?

EDIT: https://abc7news.com/politics/road-s...-2019/4918956/

As of Jan 1st, Noise violations are non correctable; fine is mandatory. That's nutz, but I can totally understand the economics and logic in the motive: The gov't might be stupid, but they are smart enough to know that 95% of the people with loud exhausts intentionally modified it to be that way and will simply and easily swap their loud exhaust back. EZ money for CA.

It's sad, but not surprising...

Holy S4!t, I heard about this yesterday and now I'm glad, I repeat, glad I got reffed early and paid a lot less than 1K and was able to acquire a stock exhaust.

Please sign this to nullify the new bs law
