My apologies, I was a little abrupt.
It is true that in print that is how it is stated. However if you watch the movies you can see that the V8's are actually VR8's (staggered cylinders at 15deg).

(that is considering that they fire sequentially. If all four fire simultaneousely, they dont have to be very big)
