1993 RX7 vs 2007 S2000 - Head to Head Review
My Youtube channel's most long-awaited comparison is finally here!
Mazda FD RX7 vs Honda AP2 S2000. Which would you guys rather buy for $20-25k nowadays? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4cyid_F7FQ More reviews, comparisons, and track/autocross footage to come! |

For $20-25k? Neither of those :p
Probably a C6 or a 987 Boxster/S. I love my S2000, but I paid $22k for it 10 years ago. I wouldn't pay anything over, say, $15k for it these days at its current age. |
The reliability difference between the two is huge. I wouldn't buy either for $20k now.
Couldn't help but notice your hand position on the wheel. The shuffling and the wrapping if your thumb. |
Thanks, for filming and posting the review. I never really considered the RX-7, strictly from a reliability point. What kinda gas mileage does the owner get from his Mazda, with current setup? Guess 15MPG is ok, as long as gas prices stay somewhat moderate. How easy is it to work on those engines? Any pitfalls or weak points, specific to that model?
Thanks, again! |
I Love both cars, but my passion is for the RX-7. That rotary engine is the bomb!
i cant wait to get my hands on a 2017 RX-7 if it ever comes to fruition :D Was really great to see a side by side comparison review. |

If there was an FD at a dealership, to be honest, I think I would trade my ap2 for an FD in a heartbeat. Given the FD was a decent one. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to trade in my old s13 drift car for a decent Montego Blue/Green FD. Sounds like an odd trade but the FD was stock(ish) and a little rough around the edges whereas the s13 I had had roots in an old street racing movie which shall remain unnamed... haha. I'm still sour about it, which is probably why I still want an FD so badly. I'll just put an F20 in one and call it a day  |
