There this kid at work who thinks his Jaguar is a Gift from God. He always talking crap about my S say that its a 4 banger and its slow. That his V8 owns. The other day i got tried of it and told him that i can run circles around his heavy ass V8. Now this kid wants to race for Money. I told him no cause i know better to race with someone like that and i know i dont have the Experience ether. But every day he talks crap. What i want to know is could i really Win?? Both car are stock the only thing i have on my is the OEM Front Lip. His is Stock 4.0 V8 oh and its a Automatic .

 

I don't know the real specs on his car but my money's on you. I had a ride in a later "S Type R" and I'd bet on that supercharged torque monster but that's not the same machine.

 

His is only an S-type not an S-type R. His only make about 281 HP

I assume this is a straight-line contest, in which case I think you have a pretty good chance. The S-Type is no super performance machine, and it's one of the most neglected cars available in any showroom today. I agree that it's really only the S-Type R that has any street cred, and even then it ain't much (though it IS pretty IMO). Also, his car is 800-1000 lbs heavier, with a slushbox, and only 40-50 more horses than you have (but with about 120 more in the torque department).

If I were you I'd take the bet and just make sure it's a drag strip. I'd make a few practice runs just in case, so you can see where abouts your skills are. Oh, and just to throw some proverbial sand in his face, depending on how old his S-Type is, it could be worth just as much as your car, which means your "4-banger Honda" has very good price parity (used) with a Jaguar that has possibly lost 40-45% of its value.

i can't believe youre even thinking about this....HAHAHAHA we can beat/keep up with 350Zs. WHat makes you think the Jag even has a chance? Don't underestimate the S. It may not be a straight line machine but by no means it's a slug. You outta have more confidence in the S!!!! VTAK POWAHHH!!!! =)
