Get a warranty and you're good to go. I loved both of my A4's

interestingly, I am thinking of going the exact same route.

However, i am not sure whether to just get an A4 Avant with the 1.8T/2.0T instead. Gas mileage is much better and they can be easily modded for pretty good power. Plus, you will pay about 10k less!

The S4 Avant is a killer car. The power and sound of that car, added to the versatility of the avant makes it a wonderful choice for a daily driver.

If you're thinking about a 2.0, a friend recently purchased a very sinister looking Avant as a daily driver / family truckster.

I've had two A4's and have not ever had a notable problem.

Go for the 2.0T over the 1.8T.

I think with all the options the S4 came with it may be a better value in the used car market compared to the 2.0l A4 avant. S4's usually come loaded with nice options like audio etc.

A nice manual a4 2.0t quattro is hard to find for less than 22k.

For the most part, the people that bought the "regular" versions hang on to them for a while. The S4 variants tend to come up more often.

If you can get one under $30k it's a really good buy for the money.

S4 avants are great!! Mileage is probably in the 13/18 range from what I remember.... so it's pretty thirsty. It's strange because I looked at a couple not too long ago as well, but i can't find them for $25K Most of the ones I saw were still $32K and up...

Love it. My brother has an 2004 3.0 6 speed and I love driving that car.

Get a warranty that will work with your Audi dealer and sleep peacefully!
