Default 2007 350z 306hp, new hood.

The 350z now has a hood bulge to accommodate the dual intakes of the VQHR engine. It ruins the look of the car in my opinion.

This overhead shot doesn't make it look as bad as it actually is.

That pic shows the effect of the nose more.

So I guess older Z's had it too.

that looks okay.

The nismo z looks pretty insane.

Also the Track model has been dropped.

One of the new raised redline

A interesting thing of note. When the 350Z was introduced, it was a much less rev happy car than the s2000. Thus despite similar straightline performance, their character was very different. Back then the S2000 had a redline of 9000 RPM and the 350Z only managed 6500RPM, a 2500RPM difference.

Since that time both cars have been moving to a sort of middle ground. Now only 500RPM seperate these two engines, 1/5 of the former difference.

Atleast the new hood does away with Nissan's older trademark...the two channels tha run along the hood on all their cars. Didn't like that very much....still, I'd prefer a plain flat hood.

Looks good, Z's look sweet when they're modded, but I still don't want one. Come on, Toyota.

4.5 years ago I had my order in for one of the first 350Zs, but I got the S2000 instead glad I did.

Interesting, now the S2000 is in it's 7th year without a bit of power upgrade while the 350Z is getting a second bump. The Boxster has got +45hp in the time the S2000 has been out.

one of these days the S2000 will be selling so few numbers and Honda will discontinue it like the NSX.

Guess if I had to wait for one of these two cars, it was better to wait for the 350Z since it's getting some upgrades.

another thing is the first Z was rated at (?) 280hp with the old standard. 306hp if they were still using the old standard would be ~312hp (ish).

I don't know if this makes any difference but +10% would put the S2000 at 264hp

The new Z looks good without those 2 channels running up the hood. That was ugly.

I actually wanted a Z before the S2k. I think it looks awesome. Didn't test drive one because I was so in love with the S. I finally drove one of my friends. They're cool cars, but just feel so damn heavy. They are more daily driver friendly though, lot quieter. I will say I'm happy I didn't get one, but they do look awesome, and are more idiot proof.

I don't think that looks bad at all. The 240's had them so why not.

I like it. That new redline makes it much more attractive IMO
