Basically, Mitsubishi is planning to release a Raliart Lancer which is basically what an Evo X is but much cheaper.

The Ralliart is practically a toned down version of the new EVO X. Not only is it powered by the same new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine (detuned however to develop 240 HP), but it is also matted to the EVO X

 

I can't wait to see the WRX comparos. Don't like the 08 WRX at all. This may take its place in the consumer world.

 

This car might give the WRX a beating. It will definitely be heavier though.

Mechanical

Lancer Ralliart is also equipped with front helical limited slip differential and a rear differential mechanical limited slip differential.

Design

Elaborating on the basic sporty design and proportions of the Lancer, the Lancer Ralliart exterior is distinguished by its more aggressively styled front bumper design, rear bumper cover, dual outlet muffler and a lightweight aluminum, ducted hood that delivers cooling air to the turbocharger.

The interior design places greater emphasis on function and vehicle control. Lancer Ralliart is equipped with FAST key, Bluetooth

that made no sense. so why would u pay $40k for an EVO x when u can get this car (w/ no LSD) for $25-28k and then retune?

 

Retune it to EVO X power and it becomes S2000 fast...

 

Meh. I bet it has a couple must have options that push the price closer to $30 and then if you retune you void your warranty. Why not just get the real thing, new or slightly used.
