2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe
The base 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder gets a new twin-scroll turbo and a 53 percent larger intercooler to deliver a 30 percent power increase with 274 hp now available, while torque rises to 275 lb-ft. The new engine gets 21/30 mpg with a six-speed manual transmission, or 20/31 with a new 8-speed automatic.
i hate the car even more with new facelift for 2013 model but that's one solid performance engine. thoughts? |
The only thing I don't care for is the face, but it's not like there are many handsome-faced cars these days anyway.
Definitely want to drive the turbo when it gets released, but for the money it's hard to beat. |
Personally, I like the front end looks as I'm sure it'll look alot better in person, but I know most people won't like it.
Dig the performance of the newer engines, wonder if the internals of the I4 changed at all, and also wonder if they tweaked some of the flaws of the coupe like the clutch feel. |
I would definitely test-drive one...

And Hyundai ruins another schnoz. The Genesis was a great looking car in the original version and now they've ruined its handsome looks.
Love the new output, though - it should liven the car up quite a bit in a straight line (this car was easily the slowest 300+ hp RWD car I've ever been in). That nose, though. |

I'm surprised nobody has started a thread on the Veloster Turbo, which was also just unveiled. The styling changes will prob. be divisive, but I like it.

Interested to see the test results of the 2 different genesis coupes and the veloster turbo. The sonata turbo turned out to be slower than expected, I'm wondering if the same will be the case for these models. Those are some serious gains though.
