Alfa and Mazda collaborated on this design.... With the top up, I see more S2000.... https://i61.tinypic.com/zyeoad.jpg http://www.latimes.com/business/auto...904-story.html |
I wish people would stop comparing everything to the S2000.
Car looks great to me. I don't see much S2000 other than the fact it's a small roadster. I wonder how much power they'll give it. |

Why do some of you guys get so bent about discussing how new cars look like past ones???? There is nothing truly "new under the sun" and inspiration is always obtained from the past. the s2000 was reminiscent of classic British roadsters and even the Fiat Spider. The S2000 was WAY ahead of its time if the 2016 Mx5 has similar lines. Think about what the Mx5 looked like in 2000...... That is why the S2000 is timeless.... The original Miata is not..... This 2016 however is pretty nice..... |
Why is it a bad thing to have some s2000 in there? It's a compliment from where I see it and I don't mind mixing up different designs as long as it makes for a good looking car - case being I like it.
|
Because it's such an obvious statement. It's a two seat roadster. It's going to look similar to other two seat roadsters. It's almost like "duh". At least that's how I feel about it anyways.

a lot of s2000 in design. |
It looks like an S2000. The NC looked like an S2000. I've heard countless people mistake the two, especially to non-car non-enthusiast people, they look very similar - get over it.
MORE IMPORTANTLY..... 4x100 hubs/bolt pattern is now officially confirmed (based on the pictures anyway). btw, I like it, especially if it lost weight and retains the same reliable character of the last 3 generations. |

Ridiculous. The Porsche Boxster and Z4 don't have the same similarities as our S2000 and this Mazda.... Now, as far as performance and chassis, and of course the s2000's engine, there isn't much out there that compare to the S2000..... Way ahead of its time there.... |
