6 mt latest gen Accord coupe- thoughts?

I owned an Si that I loved and sold a couple of years ago- it was 2007. Drove the crap out of it and became a major fan of v-tec

Now have S2k and G37s but wife will be using G so starting to car shop again.

I have driven the manual version of the Accord coupe but like the looks and I hear the engine is pretty powerful.

I understand its a FWD so the weight distribution causes understeer and the handling won't be sports car like but my real question has to do with the FUN factor. Is it a fun car like the Si?

I am a huge Honda fan late in life and love their manual trannies. The car will be driven in the snow.

It is a great daily driver that is *somewhat* fun. It just depends on what you're idea of fun is - mine is extremely subjective. I haven't daily driven anything less than a S2000 in years, but I still try to keep in the loop by driving other cars (I do work at a dealership). I like the Accord a lot. I think you'll find it very easy to answer your own question after driving it.

Yes, somewhat fun imo. Its bigger and heavier than the Si, and its fwd, but it has decent handling and power an more space. If you're a huge Honda fan and want a manual transmission you don't have that many options, but its probably a good match to an S2k in the garage for better weather.

I don't think I'd call it fun like the Si or S2000. It doesn't have the fast steering and sharp turn-in those cars generally exhibit. However, it has a great motor (arguably as quick or quicker than an S2000 from a roll), it's very well built, has great features and it looks pretty good as well. A stiffer rear roll bar will probably help on the handling side and some springs or coilovers with a proper alignment could also help.

So, I'd say it is "mature fun" rather than "hooligan fun". ;)

Depends on how much fun you're looking for. My old DD was a '99 Coupe w/ 4 cylinder and 5 speed. It wasn't a fun car, but compared with the competition it was relatively fun. My main complaints were the gearing (V6 6 speed should address that) and the suspension handling. It was always a comfortable, reliable, and economical car much more than it was an exciting car... but it did all the things it did so well while not being completely dull.

In general, the new Accord have gotten bigger, softer, and more comfortable while losing a bit of their fun factor. If you want fun and don't really care about the coupe look at the Mazda6 and Fusion. If you really want the coupe the Altima is very similar while being a tad more fun to drive. Really, everything in the segment is extremely close. Even the two extremes of comfort vs fun (Mazda6 and Camry) aren't that far apart.
