Default 85 300zx engine swap

Well I have a 300zx 85 non turbo t-top.
Now i'm planningo n restoring the engine and some components, and crazy Idea came in my mind if I should just turbo it or change the engine tranny and diff and maybe suspension with new technology. Anyone know if it could fit? Maybe engine and tranny ??

wouldn't the upgrade be worth more than the entire car?

It would, but the sentimental part of the car is the priceless one

I'd put in the 350z drivetrain. Then, if you still feel a need for speed, there's always the TT kits. I think Greddy makes one.

If you want to hang onto the car, I think getting an engine that's in a domestically availible car is the way to go. Now, that means that the VG30DETT is an option too, but I imagine finding a 3.5 in good condition would be easier, not to mention less hassle down the road if you're happy without the turbos.
