The M3 has more power, more torque. The S2000 has better road feel, better handling and better transmission if compared to the M3's 6-speed manual. SMG-II is cool but not for everyone. Of course the M3 has all of the standard BMW luxury refinements one would expect to find in a $55K car while the S2000 has just the right amount of bare necessities for a true sports roadster.

In short, the M3 is the ultimate weekday car and the S2000 is the ultimate weekend car.

compared with the s2k, the m3 is a GT. the m3 is bigger, heavier, and less agile than the s2k in the twisties.

I think you should compare the 350z to the M3.

S2000 compared to Boxster/Z4 is a simliar comparison

M3 weighs 500+ lbs more than the S2000. It's a more substantial car.

It's a lot closer to a Mustang than to a S2000.

I personally liked my E46 M3 better than the s2000 in every aspect (power, aesthetics, seating, comfort, so forth). A major plus was the E46 M3 does handle well in the rain!

You can't compare these two cars.

Besides this, E46 M3 is a nice car, too many other cars coming out... E90 M3 coming up this 2007, is gonna make the E46 M3 OLD.
