Taking the rotary out of the RX-7 is like taking it's heart and soul out...

Christople 04-15-2006 11:40 AM

I'd like a "heart/soul" transplant if mine kept dying on me every tens of thousands of miles.

from what i hear though the transplant is not all that much heavier than the stock rotary.... so i figured i could get this thing aligned and hopefully slightly strip it and use it at the track for some road course type fun.....

not sure what kind of hp it makes, but i hope over 300 with over 300lb ft of torque. :)

People love the RX-7s with V8s in them. The engine is easy to work on, and the car is so great to start with.

How do those older RX-7's handle compared to an older 300zx/Supra/Camaro/Mustang of the late 80's?

PeaceLove&S2K 04-15-2006 11:08 PM

Doesn't that make it an MX7?

Much better in terms of handling, but they are prone to axle hop off the line. The 300ZX is probably the closest in terms of handling.
