Car and Driver's EVO vs. STI comparison...
Don't know if it's been posted, but I just got my issue and the comparison is pretty cool. The Evo is good for low 13's, while the Sti is definitely good for high 12's if driven properly. Not bad for low $30K. I'd buy one...
Now, here's is one BEAUTIFUL Supra. Thought I'd share...:D If pic isn't shown, copy and paste URL: http://community.webshots.com/sym/im...1jZAzLO_ph.jpg http://community.webshots.com/sym/image4/1...81jZAzLO_ph.jpg |
I just got my Road and Track which has the two about even for acceleration...the STI is hampered by too short of gearing and the evo is down by 30hp....but 13.3 and 13.4

Motor Trend has these stats:
WRX Sti 0-60: 4.87 1/4 mile: 13.23 @ 104.6 Evo 8 0-60: 4.59 1/4 mile: 13.08 @ 105.1 |
did you guys see the slalom and braking numbers for the evo!!
100-0 292 ft same as Z06 600 ft slalom 1 mph faster i would say for $29,850 those are some strong numbers!!! the real question is what will the dealers do |
Mark, you might as well explain in your sig what happened to your red S2000.
I've seen like 5 threads myself where you've had to. -Matt |

that was clearly modified though.... a modified Cobra on a track can run 11's all day long........ (i like to argue for both sides).

Is there still a waiting list for the Evo or are they available at most dealerships? Also, how many EVOs are being made for the U.S. a year? Are they going for MSRP or more and what is the invoice price on them? Sorry for all the questions.
|
in south florida there's about 8 EVOs per dealer selling at MSRP or 500$ below. They invoice right around 28,000, you can look up the exact figure online easily on kbb or some other info site. 6,000 EVOS per year.
|
In WA, most Evos go for a few grands over MSRP, and they are still selling fast.
|
One dealership here has 2 red ones and are marked up $4k. They will be keeping them for a while.

I just saw an EVO today, and I must say, it looks much better in person than in pics. I seriously thought that the EVO was just going to look like another Lancer, but seriously, it's not even close! The front hood is very nice, and also the CF wing is better than I thought as well. The EVO is pretty cool, and from what I've been reading on all these car magazines this month, although close, the EVO seems to have a slight edge over the STI, even though the STI is 300hp. You called it Xpander4!
