Honda Fit Si!
SIKE. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.s2k...1bd993846f.png http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/24/honda-r...zz-and-its-a-t/ So this is what Honda is giving us now; high performance tape and trim. "Us" being the UK. They can have it. |
Death to Honda.

damn you

#&*^#$ :ignore: You hooked me good....

I already had a good "sign me up" reply prepaired!

Something about driving around my Fit with an Si badge and its current 105hp makes my weenier shrivel into my stomach. Can that be any more lame? 205hp... I wouldn't own it though. I bought it to be a beater daily driver. Hell no I wouldn't drive one as an enthusiast car even if it had 300 hp.
|
What's the point of having a 205-hp Fit? The Fit is supposed to be an efficient economy subcompact; 205hp would defeat its purpose/being. There's the Civic Si and Accord Coupe for those who want such...Having a 205-hp Fit would not make sense at all for Honda, because it would be in the face of the Civic Si, Accord Coupe, etc.
|
aw man - I immediately starting thinking of selling my MS3...
but nooooo. crap. |
I was like, man..........how much of a hit would I take with the trade-in of my 09 Fit Sport lol
|
zzzz___zzzz my sister beatle looks more aggresive
|
the boosted beetle's probably faster than the SI. If not, then flash it and it will be. Its really sad

The reason we have this car is that the Honda go-fast peeps are incredibly bored. There's no real sporting cars from Honda, so they're left making this stuff.
|
They really should have an SI fit.... mind you why would you want anything more practical than an S2000.

you cannot be serious. you're on a pro-honda site talking shit about econoboxes? get real. a 205hp or even a 160hp Fit makes ALL the sense in the world if you ask me. a lot of Honda's 'econoboxes' have had quite sucessful runs in racing with just a little extra horsepower, suspension, and brakes. who cares what the intended purpose of the car was to begin with? we're not talking about mini-vans here.

Weaksauce! You got me!
I would have been happy with an engine swap option for my 07. |
[QUOTE=Steponme,Mar 26 2010, 02:36 PM] It makes sense to you because you're dumb, and Honda is not financially dumb like you.

This is in general true of all auto enthusiasts who think companies like Honda are in business to sell 100K S2000's and ignore the 10,000,000 Accords they sold in that same time.

It makes sense to you because you're dumb, and Honda is not financially dumb like you. :D Honda doesn't wanna invest more money into creating a more powerful Fit so that it can compete with sales of the Civic Si and Accord Coupe. Why dump millions into creating such a financially unsound car? That's why you're just a simpleton who's not running Honda, thankfully. :D Maybe simpletons like you are the reason GM went into bankruptcy and required $60 billion of taxpayers' money.
Honda wouldn't be out very much money at all giving the Fit another engine option. A 205hp would cut into the Civics Si's profit share, that I'll give you (but one can dream). However, the 160hp Kmotor wouldn't and it'd be a lot of fun for the fringe like us. Where Honda has wasted "millions and millions" is by trying to be a carbon copy of Toyota and chasing down their ideas. Where Honda spends money is developing completely new vehicles. (Insight, Crosstour, CR-Z) not by offering an engine they already essentially have as an option. Do you feel better getting that quip in about GM, even though it had nothing to do with the conversation? Hope so, simpleton. :D |

Last time I checked this was an enthusiast's website, not a 'lets talk sales figures and profit margins' website. So I find it pretty funny that you'd come on here and belittle someone for being an enthusiast. But if that's what gets your motor running, so be it.
On that note: Other then producing 100K S2000's and a few thousand NSX's... Honda has never made any other real sports cars (maybe the S600). It just happened that a large set of people at one point decided that their FWD econobox models would be their enthusiast car. Now, I've owned 13 Hondas/Acuras and only 3 were sports cars and the other 10 were nothing more then damn good (better then the rest in their class) cars. |
Regardless of how you feel about a real SI fit or not, this trim and wheels version is pretty pathetic. Why even bother?

Last time I checked it was a Honda site under a general "car talk" section talking about a Honda Fit that is nothing even remotely considered an enthusiast car nor does Honda even produce one right now.

Honda = tons of fail! Cookie cutters only these days :(

I think anyone who has driven a Fit will agree that the interior space and versatility are pretty impressive in that car. If there was an Si trim with 160-170hp it would be a pretty fun little car to drive. Also, wow some would like to say that Honda makes 'econoboxes' and not sports cars for the most part...that's a bit mis-leading. Honda has...in the past, brought a different take on 'econoboxes'. While the CRX wasn't a 'sports car'...that along with the Del Sol, Prelude and a couple of others have offered a 'sporty' and entertaining cars to drive that also happened to be pretty economical. Honda is the largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines on the planet so I seriously doubt any speculation on this forum will impact their future endeavors too much but I do believe they will bring an Si trim Fit to market at some point in the next couple of years.

To me this is the same as putting those side fender vents on a Buick...Rice :thumbdn:
