I dont want to download but is this the video of the Rx7 Se that had its coolant seal broken, running on one rotor instead of two and was redlined past 9,000 rpms for abouit 8 minutes and then it finally gave out, not because the motor did but because the coolant seal was off? Then it set on fire?

I guess they didn't know that the rotor could've blown out and killed them

That's an impressive testament to the durability of rotaries...

They probably could've gotten many more good miles out of that one

that was pretty funny... I heard that engine could've redlined at 11 grand with no problems.

Everyone knows the fastest way to kill a rotary engine is to add boost to it.

In a N/A application they have have proven to be pretty tough engines. At least the older 12a and 13B versions of it.

The new Renisis seems to have a boat load of problems in the RX-8.

no way is a rotor going to snap through the steel esentric shaft and through a cast iron housing with enough force to kill anyone.
