235/275 is the most common track setup for the NSX. No 275's on a 10 will not be too much.
The above tire setup and a good set of coilovers completely transform the car. |
Without rubbing the stock fender liner, yes, 215/40-17 is pretty much as big as you can go. If you remove the plastic liner and add camber, 235/40-17 is the most popular tire option and there are more options (yet still restrictive) over the 215.

Out of all the cars I've driven since the s2000 the closest in terms of driver involvement / driving dynamic was the Z4M. It feels more stable, has more power / torque, and responds to driver inputs with similar immediacy. It is roughly 350-400lbs heavier than an s2000 but it doesn't feel significantly heavier in the bends IMHO. If you want exclusivity it's also super rare.

Car must be streetable, hence why I want to keep the fender liners. I'm thinking 215/40-17 and 265/35-18 is ideal for my situation. Or would 215/275 combo be better? |
I DD mine with 235/275s. 215/275 will also be fine.

Edit: Scratch that. Realized the time-attack car is owned/built by FXMD. Someday I'd love to drive a car like that. Sometimes I ask myself why I didn't pursue motorsports, or at least the automotive industry in some way. |
