i would never lease a car but that's just me, I could not just drive the car 12,000 in one year, heck i'm already there in half a year. Save up some money and put a downpayment big enough to get you those types of payments and own the car. But that's just me

I dunno, 12,000 miles a year at 18 mpg or so average would probably still hurt at the pump. (It seems that spirited driving in the 8 can get as low as 13mpg and highway driving can get as much as 23) I don't think the 8 is great on gas.

RX8 is a great car, almost as fun as the S...but mbilderback is right, its horrible on gas. I had it as a daily driver for a few months, even when babyin' the thing it ate up gas.

shinka is a special edition rx8, comes in one color only (black cherry or something like that) with tan parchment leather interior... I think the suspension has been changed a bit, can't remember what else is different... I believe everything under the hood is unchanged though. They had a little blurb on it in one of the car mags recently.

I'm guessing the Shinka package is a lot like the A-spec packages for the Civic and RSX. Modified suspension parts and exterior bits, nothing under the hood.

BTW, will the RX8 ever get the Mazdaspeed treatment?

It is 90% cosmetic. Lots of badging and different trim pieces. The only functional changes are 18" wheels, a reinforced front crossmember, 14mm damper shafts (as opposed to the normal 12mm), and a Sirius Satellite radio system.

Add that stuff to a fully loaded RX-8 and you have the "Shinka"......(or "Stinka" if you buy one thinking its gonna be faster )

The leather is a higher grade. Really nice. Also the rims are chromed & the brushed aluminum bits inside are chromed as well.
