Post New dyno #s on wife's Evo IX

First and foremost I would like to give big props to the boys at Reese Tuning--James and Alain! You guys worked on my wife's Evo until 2:30 am this morning and we really appreciated your hard work and dedication. Your customer service is second to none! {thumbup}

My wife and I have an Evo IX SE. We've had it for about a year now and absolutely love it. It is our daily driver and we honestly couldn't ask for anything better to commute in! We've done a fair amount of mods to the car thus far, and yesterday we stepped it up a notch--we had an AEM EMS, 1000cc injectors, and an Invidia 02 housing installed and tuned. Here is the current mod listing:

Mil.Spec-ported OEM turbo manifold w/Swain White Lightening coating
Mil.Spec-ported OEM 10.5 hotside w/Swain White Lightening coating
Cosworth 272 M2 cams
Fidanza adjustable exhaust cam gear
SuperTech dual valve springs and titanium retainers
ARP head studs
AEM EMS
AEM 5 BAR MAP sensor
GM boost control solenoid
AMS fuel rail
PTE 1000cc injectors
Walbro 255
AMS 3" TBE
Invidia 02 housing
AEM short ram intake
Nisei intercooler
Nisei lower and upper intercooler piping

The tuning was done on good old 91 octane and the pulls were done in 4th gear. Here are the results of the final tune/pull:

During one of the pulls the car managed ~370awhp and 404ft-lbs, but that was at about 26.5 psi and there was 1 knock count I believe. The dyno graph you see above represents a pretty rock solid tune--ZERO knock and a perfect AFR. My wife and I were very pleased with Alain's tuning efforts. We were hoping for a little bit higher horsepower number, but were presently surprised by the torque number!

From here we are going to have an Exedy twin disc HD installed, break it in, and then have the car tuned on E-85. We were thinking about going with a 65mm TB and port-matched IM inlet, but at this point I don't think there would be much gains as I believe the stock turbo has been pushed to its limits (aside from tuning on an alternative fuel). At some point we are going to upgrade to a HTA 35R turbo kit, have the engine fully built, as well as the tranny and transfer-case. Needless to say we are not even close to being done!

Well, thanks for looking at my thread! I hope you all appreciate the pretty stout numbers...especially considering the tune was on pretty pathetic 91 octane. Take care!

To be at full boost before 3500 RPMs is just nuts. We haven't got a chance to "play" with her yet. Once we get the Exedy installed and we get new tires, we are going to head back to the strip!

It's amazing how much torque those little motors can make.
