both won't touch the Corvette in terms to performance to the dollar
New supra may debut as soon as the fall. From what they say, there are two different test mules being spoted near Torrance. Don't bet on the new supra not out-powering the vette for the same $. There are reports there will be a 300+HP V-6 from the IS 350 that will compete with the likes of the 350Z, and a 5.0 liter V-8 with 400+HP(probably closer to 450HP) Supra that will compete with the Vette.

I think that is the notion Infinity is going for.

Performance in a Luxury package like Porsche, BMW and so on

possibly.. but an aluminum bodied car with magnesium front cradle and 500 ponies tossing you to 60 in 3.7s or less, 11s in the 1/4, and top speed over 190mph all for $65k is difficult to compete with

i think it would have been better served as an infiniti (better dealership rep, service, longer warranty, etc)......i just don't see how 911 buyers are going to cross-shop a Nissan vehicle

Yea..I'm sure Nissan and Toyota is really shaking in their boot about the
Corvette.

I don't know how you could speculate on something that's not
even out yet.

^ yeah, the gtr's spec may look impressive on paper today, but come 2008 when the bar has been set higher, and there are handfuls of 500hp cars out there, the gtr will not be as impressive. i really don't know what is taking nissan so long to put this car into production. they have a better chance of doing well with the gtr today than in 2008, when nearly all manufacturers will have come out with their version of the supercar.

I acutally would prefer it to be a Nissan than Infiniti. Being a Nissan it will be cheaper and lighter without all the luxury stuff. or they can just make 2 version like the 350Z and G35.

does any know if they'd be limited edition? or "limited" like the S2000 is.

hrmm. id say if they retain their normal and not luxury names, and if they were produced in S2000 like numbers, that they would be under 50k. Making them strong if not no-brainers against the likes of an M3 or porsche cayman.

I just hope they don't price themselves out of existence. (my existence)
