I was just thinking today, I own and drive a car that has no cup holder. My beautiful '90 CRX-Si is doing a lot of daily driving these days because of the rising gas costs. Wow, I own a car old enough to have been built before the silly cup holder craze...

So, what was the last car you owned that had no cup holder? Or, do you too have a car you now drive that has no factory equiped cup holder?

 

I had a 1989 subaru, cup holder equipped

 

My 89 CRX didn't have one. My 90 Legend didn't originally come with one and most others don't come equipped, but I must have got one with an option!

 

So when did this cup holder craze take over?
Clearly sometime in the '90's

 

i have 2 cars without cupholders.. however, one is a 70s triumph

 

92 dodge stealth

 

89 toyota pick up, 98 MKIV tt, and I'm not 100% sure but I think my 94 ITR might have not had one either. My IS350 basically has just one.

 

'86 Toyota MR2. My gf at the time was my cupholder.

 

Current car: boxster s, no cup holder

last car: s2000, no cup holder
