Well after much debate, I finally decided to pre-order and put a deposit down on the new Nissan 350Z. I thought that Nissan had stopped taking pre-orders but apparently they are taking pre-orders in "two shipments" according to the dealer. The first shipment is due to arrive in August/September/October. The second one is due to arrive November/December/January 03. So I put down a $1K refundable deposit for the second to last pre-order slot at the dealer. The dealer said that my should arrive by December at the latest, but I'm figuring January 03.

I ordered the Performance Model, which I think gives you the most bang for the buck. The difference b/w it and the Touring is leather seats and the Bose Audio (getting custom leather and a custom stereo system anyway). And difference b/w it and the Track is Brembos (I heard the normal brakes are excellent) and Rays Wheels. Not worth the extra $5K IMO.

That is very cool.
Will you be passing on the S or would you like two toys to choose from?

I'm definitely keeping the S2000. I wouldn't trade it for anything except an NSX.

Mav,

Congratulations on the 350z. Mine will be coming in (just spoke with my dealer today) on September 9th (Daytona Blue Enthusiast + mats at MSRP).

go checkout www.my350z.com or the forums at www.freshalloy.com for more info. The my350z guys are pretty good fellows, and Jay (the moderator/owner) has some good bandwidth. He encoded the DVD info that was sent in the press kit and posted it on the site.

I also was also thinking about the 350z. I couldn't wait, and jumped on the S2000. I need that top down now.

My neighbor is getting a new 350Z will all options soon. I will snap some pics when he gets it. Too bad he went for the automatic.
