Return of the manual GT3?

Apologies if this has already been posted. Search not working for me.

New 911 GT3 to get 4.0-litre flat-six and manual gearbox Evo

Sounds like great news. Also possibly a GT4 RS Cayman.

Always good to have options!

It has been rumored for probably a year now, but definitely good to see it's almost here, and great news on a possible Cayman GT4 RS. As far as I'm concerned, keep injecting more hardcore manual Porsches into the market so I can have a more realistic chance of getting one, whether it's a newer one, a GT4, or an older 997 GT3.

991.2 manual GT3 won't really hurt the market on anything except the 991.1 PDK GT3 and maybe the GT4. 991 and 997/996 are a completely different animal. Also the price point on the 991.2 GT3 will be pretty high. The market for 150+ cars isn't exactly the same as the 90-105 range. A few 991.1 and GT4 owners will probably dump and move up to 991.2 but not many 997.1/2 owners I suspect since that car is smaller, more direct and analog feeling than the 991 gen.

I think the GT4 RS excites me the most in that article. Bring it on!

If the GT4 RS comes out with a 4.0 Liter or 3.8L GT3 engine i will literally trade my current GT4 in it right now!!

I have driven regularly an s2k, an sti and spent the whole day driving a manual cayman gts. Though the standard shifter on the gts is like rowing a boat, being able to rev match, heal toe and be more engaged with the car is butter. I just can t see myself with a pdk. IMO.. I think generation X, like myself will cherish NA, high revving manuals. Maybe cuz most of us started driving in a time when civic si and Intergra type Rs were the rave when we were in high school. But man, the cayman gts, sports plus with sport exhaust. Totally Sick... Just sick...... Cant wait to get behind that wheel again. I think I'd pee in my pants if i drove a gt3 manual... Whoa!!!
