Stupid 1994 civic -some opinions. - updated doh!
Updated on page 2...doh....
Quick background - bought 1994 civic si for $7250 delivered. was supposed to be 1 owner, showroom condition (as described by them) with 45k miles.
in the end it has a few minor problems (i can live with those) and some bigger issues of rust ($3400 to fix properly). I took some pictures and sent them to the dealership. "we have decided to do nothing". I have shown them written proof that I have with emails saying SHOWROOM, etc..... and they still choose to do nothing...
It would cost them the price I paid for the car plus $1500 for them to buy the car back and have it shipped back to them (at that point they could find the next sucker)...
I have already filed a complaint with the IOWA attorney general and am in the process of sending them pictures and my emails with their exact words.
I just left a message on the owners voice mail saying that I couldn't believe that was how they work their customer service. I gave him until Monday to respond and indicated that I would get a lawyer, possibly subpena the prior owner (prior owner and I talked recently and he indicated they knew about the rust and only gave him $2k on trade due to the rust) and also start posting my story on the internet Honda Boards....
any advice?

So were you the one who posted that mint red civic hatch with like barely any miles on it?
And there was rust?

Do you have a link to the place that sold it to you? Where is the rust. I take it you had the car delivered. That sucks. Not to kick you while you're down but this is the reason I don't buy something used without first seeing it in person.

Im sorry, but WHO in their right mind pays 7k for a 94 civic. I don't care how it looks - thats just plain retarded. Get yourself an RSX for similar money and move on.

I am not going to drive the car much... it was just one of those MINT low mileage sort of rare cars that I thought would be neat to keep for 15 years...... i didn't plan to drive it in the snow or rain, etc....
I wasn't looking for a daily driver..... I figured down the road this car would be similar to what a muscle car is to a 60 year old right now...... or maybe not.... it was only $7500 deliverd / taxes / tags, etc.... so it is not like a ton of $.
Now it is the principal... the car i got is not the car i paid for...
