Default Tesla vs Top Gear UK

Hahaha

I can see the Top Gear blokes burning, dropping batteries from a crane, and bashing Tesla cars. Can't wait what Jeremy actually says to this

I just read that too. Do these guys really do things like this? Would really bring down the credibility of their reviews if that proves to be true.

Duh. TG is about characters and cars. JC has never said anything nice about electric cars, and I think Tesla is tired of putting up with the fallout from the uneducated.

Tesla sues top gear. top gear was able to squeeze out 55 miles before battery died and tesla says that's not true and that was staged.

Interesting, so are that suing because their car can go more than 50 miles in the condition top gear put it through, or are they just suing how TG represented the vehicle? If it's the former, seems like 55 miles in track conditions seems about right based on that thread on teasla's own forum. If it's the latter, then this is the reason why TG or really any review show here is doomed for failure because now they're only allowed to say what the manufacturers allow them to say, and thus the deterioration of our society continues.
I dunno, maybe it's cuz the whole green thing is slowing down and they're not making the numbers they want and they're gonna blame TG for their failure. I mean if everyone believed what TG said, Land Rovers would be the SUV of choice for everyone and everyone would trade in their Ferraris for Astons.

Of course they do. This is precisely why Tesla is suing.

Top Gear has always been more about entertainment and personal agendas/attitudes/preferences than reality. They consistently and shamelessly lie and repeat popular British stereotypes for "entertainment," and their reviews definitely require taking with a whole handful of salt.

And that is what the suit will hinge upon - is TG news or entertainment?

I thought the tesla overheated its batteries/controllers too, but that was a long time ago, why bring it up now?

Top gear can singlehandidly bury a company like Tesla. Bad move IMHO. It is also NOT a lie.

I don't remember where I read it, but shortly after the test (I think it was Clarksons column in the UK times) Tesla said that the brakes didn't break, but a fuse blew. Clarkson said he didn't care what the problem was, but the car didn't work and that was that. The motor overheating was also NOT a lie. I also don't believe the 55mile range was a lie either. Tesla say it can do 200 or so miles on a single charge. If the car is driven balls to the wall, it can't possibly last the 200 miles.
