Top speeds
 

I'm not fussed about where or if it was legal or not, but I'm just wondering what speed you've seen on the clock and what bike it was on. . .

I'm interested to see if people try to get to the top speed of their bikes.

For me it is. . .

2004 R1 - 187 mph.

recently: 160 in a 2000 Y frame gixxer w/ a 2002 1liter engine

-doing red line in only 5th gear, seems its performance was functional
-done at 6K altitude, this environment takes about 10%
-dont recall what the sprocket numbers are
-get a better accurate speed number using a gps or speed gun

knee down?

160+ on a 03 954RR
150+ on a 06 R6
150+ on a 02 s2000
140+ on a IROC stock car
120+ on a 97 NSX
140+ on a 02 Z06

I think it's a cool thread you have going Dan, but I think it's funny that when I talked about my interests in top speed I was flamed to hell.

i did 43mph in my 1993 Yamaha Jog. Downhill.

I've done 43mph on Rollerblades downhill. Didn't end well. I guess I should've thought things through first. :LOL:

no you were flammed cause your a tool. The original poster of this thread i know for a fact does track days and such. Not top speed runs on the salt flats like your cool self.....

P.s. you must not be looking very close because i posted in your thread about you crashing your S2000.... You should have used spiked tires on the salt flats. then maybe you would not have crashed... :pat: ..

It was prompted by the comments in my trackday thread thread about hitting 165 mph.
