Default TR3

This beautiful example cost probably $2k in '59, I think worth $35-40k today ( after a lot of work and TLC)

Not really a great return but a lot of fun. Similar to the S2000 I think[attachment=66551:tr3 2.JPG]

Although I'm a Triumph guy, I was always a bigger fan of the Austin Healeys myself.

By 1959, if new, that would be a TR3A? Wide grille? (hard to tell in photo). I like the narrow-grille myself but it's not a deal-breaker.

They had come a long way in a decade from the Triumph 2000.

Think the TR5 was the TR4a here.

Always have admired the TR6 from afar.

You're right though, British Leyland was the original Government Motors

My uncle just bought a TR7 a couple of months ago.

It's the same car that my aunt used to own, which she had sold in the early '90's.

The TR7 replaced a Spitfire that he sold last year.

He's just turned 81 and he said it's much easier to get in and out of the TR7.

Actually I believe it was called the TR250

The TR4a is the predecessor of the TR5/TR250. one year wonder.
All the looks of the TR4, all the mechanicals of the TR6.

Yes. But 105HP vs 150HP in the home market, had to be a major let-down.

Lots of neat Triumphs. My favorite is the late-30's Dolomite with the "fencer's mask" grille; OK, you'll get passed a lot -- but you'll look good while doing it.
