What did you drive before your s2000 or after?
I always remembered my experience in this car as a very good one however if I get into one now I will have to deal with winters and serious lack of space. What did you come from before your s2000 or if you got rid of yours what did you replace it with and what do you think?
|
i had an Audi A6 Avant 3.0L with all the whistles and bells...
was expensive to run, costs a fortune for the simplest part, you got used to the gadgets and didnt even notice them after a while. Also got fed up of a computer driving the car and not me. all in all the stook feels a lot more raw and simple and comes apart like a dream in minutes. Miss the solid build and component quality most but i feel much more connected to my new motor |
I had an Evo8 MR. making the switch was worth it times ten. like going from a mace to a samurai sword.
|
When I got my S back in 02 I traded a 99 Eclipse GS for it.
Levi |
Here's my list of all my "fun" cars. The first 20003 Mustang GT was totalled, so I bought another to replace it.
|
i had a teg before the S...had them both for about a year and then sold the teg...still miss it

a vw mk5 gti. it was a cool car and convenient but it just got boring. The S is a 100 times more rewarding drive.

Short list for me
03 RSX Type S 00 S2000 |
i just sold my 2004 CLK500. It was very comfortable cruiser and had amazing torque, but the cost of maintainence and not knowing what would break next made me have a love/hate relationship with the car. The S2000 is not the most comfortable or spacious thing, but it is one of the most exciting cars i have ever driven. Now i just need a daily beater, i like the s2000 too much to have to drive in traffic/rain all the time.

-lexus sc300 '94
-subaru wrx '05 -nissan sentra SER spec v '02 -mazda speed6 '06 -honda s2000 '01 -acura cl '01 -honda s2000 '00 Theres a reason why there are 2 s2000s on the list  |
Before the S2000
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/uploads/g.../php843pT8.jpg As for winters and lack of space? I've always had a second car. |
99 DSM-high school beater
01 audi 225 roadster- hailed on and totaled 01 audi 225 coupe- had lots of fun but broke the bank with simple repairs. 98 ek with a typeR swap. was also fun. just sold a couple weeks ago 00 ek hatch on e-85 at 17psi(321 whp) SOHC power!! traded for R6 03 R6 show bike- sold because I was gonna hurt myself current 02 s2000- this has been by far my favorite and you all know why 98 DC- winter beater |

Traded in my 11 Nissan sentra SE-R SPEC V. Loved that car but Ive always wanted an AP2 S2K. So when I saw the S2K at a dealership I couldn't pass it up!! I do miss my SPEC V once in a while but overall I'm glad I made the move!
|
I had a '99 Jeep Wrangler SE before my s2000. It was my first car, was slow, a pain in the ass on the highways, and got terrible mpgs. However, I could go anywhere with it. I traded it in a few days ago for my 02 S2000, and the only things I'm having to get used to is getting in( I'm 6'3"), and all the power. I was driving on a damp road today, and I started to get a bit of oversteer turning onto the road.I'm not used to the 1k less #s, 50 ft/#s more torque, and 100 more horsepower on the S.
|
First car was a Chevy celebrity.
Then a 2001 jeep Cherokee sport. Eclipse GS-T fully built. Fwd ftl! Then I've had my S2000 for 5 years now. Buying a legacy gt or TL type a shortly to go along with the S. |
....2000 Toyota Camry
05 S2000 is my "first" sporty car. Still use the Camry for longer rides. Waiting until 2015 to purchase an NSX. |
I had an Integra GSR, bought the S2000-kept the S2000 but traded the Intgra for the wife's 325 that traded in for an M3.
No matter which car comes after, the S2000 remains... |

She's kept under a cover in the garage and rarely driven. This is the occasional weekend/ collector car |
Short list for me.

04 S2000 BB Sold Currently own a 00 Unrestricted(MPH) :D ZX12 Possibly purchasing a 00 S2k NFR this Thursday I missed my 04 S2k so much after I sold her. I disliked the BB, It was hard to keep it clean out here in the desert. So now I have my eyes set on a NFR |
Mazda Rx7 (FC)
|
'96 Acura Integra GSR
'99 Honda CBR600 F4 '99 Chevy Suburban '05 Acura TSX '05 Honda S2000 Gave the Integra to my brother and a friend totaled the Chevy. The TSX is the daily and I switch between the motorcycle and s2k in the summer. s2k has been a blast to drive and a head Turner but the Integra felt so raw driving compared to the others I own. |
Before the S, my first car was '67 VW Bug, then a Datsun 210. In my first professional job, I had company car US domestic POS sedans, followed by the family friendly 1997 Honda Odyssey, then a 2000 MY Odyssey. The 2000 Odyssey is still the people hauler, dog-park friendly mover, cross country-and-back soft ride, and Home Depot hauler. The '97 was awarded to the ex, then sold to a neighbor's brother. It's still running.
After the S purchase, I got two 1952 MG TD replicas. One with a bored out, totally rebuilt VW engine, and one with a 0.060 Chevy 283. The S is the fun car I hope to have forever. |
95 Suburban
06 GTI & 08 WR250X Now an S2K :) |
Had a 91 Corolla. No comparison.
The S was replaced as a DD with a Nissan Rogue. It's fun to drive for a CUV but it's like driving a bus compared to the S. The good thing is that the S is now saved for better weather, road trips, etc. |
I have been driving a Triumph TR7 coupe I restored 12 years ago as daily driver since then. It can be hard to get into it some days.
I have a 4.6L 330+bhp TR8 convertible as a fun/daily driver, but it got a bit too modified for a drive to town, to do the shopping. The S is now daily driver, in good weather. It lives top down, under a sheet, to keep the dust out, & the 7 replaces it if it is wet. I think I have the perfect fleet. |
Had an '85 Alfa Romeo GTV6 and a '02 Subaru WRX Wagon. Sold the Alfa to they guy I bought it from. He shipped it to Switzerland and then Israel. The WRX was traded in towards the S2000.
I leased the S2000 for 4 years and after I returned it I went with an '04 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas. Totaly opposites yet shared some key features like front/rear double wishbone suspension. |
99 Subaru Impreza L Coupe
00 Honda S2000 |
Had a BMW 530i before the S2000. Now I have an A5 cab.
Also had a Aura TL (got rid of it) during the S2000 years and a 1970 454 Corvette and sportbike (still have both). The S2000 was great but I had 4 vehicles total and that was too much for 1 person. The TL and S got traded in for the Audi. |
Before I got the S, I was driving an '03 WRX. Then after my lease was up, I gave back the S and went and bought myself an '04 STi. Coming from a Subie into the S, I really missed torque. The STi was a great car to get into afterwards. Now I am onto the slightly bigger platform in the '05 XT, but with a similar power band to the STi. All I need is the VF39, STi TMIC, STi up pipe and downpipe, a tune and I'm making just a tad over STi power and torque. I'd say it would be a good family hauler at that point. :D

97 Accord SE coupe(sold)/00 BMW ci(sold)/97 Avalon (beater)/06 s2000
|
b4 H3, after GTI.
|
96 VW Jetta
02 S2000 11 WRX hatch 12 VW Jetta 12 CTS Coupe AWD The S is still me favorite car by FAR!!! I sold it to my dad, worst decision I ever made was getting rid of that car, I'll be back in one some day. |
1998 Honda Prelude (sold)
1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ (daily/winter beater) Miss the Prelude but the s2000 is better in nearly every category. |
Me:
1987 Nissan Pulsar SE---> 1998 Acura GS-R---> 2003 Honda S2000. Wife: 1996 Dodge Neon---> 1997 Honda Accord SE ---> 2003 Honda Pilot EX ---> 2005 Honda Odyssey EX-L ---> 2012 Toyots Sienna SE |
1995 Acura Integra GSR
1992 Talon TSi 2001 S2000 Talon was by far the fastest however i enjoy the s2000 considerably more. I loved my talon however worrying about something breaking everytime you drive it was obnoxious lol. Gsr was an all around good car and i wouldn't mind one for a DD especially with leather |
before the s2000 was a VW golf GTI MKV.
|
01 Grand Caravan
01 Jetta 1.8T 98 Passat Wagon AWD 1.8t gt35r 00 S2000 <<<< current Honestly now that I have the S paid off I can turn it into a track beast. I'm really looking at the new wrx as a daily as two of my friends snagged 12's. Plus slamming through mud in them is way to fun. |
Yikes I've only been driving for 14 years and have had 13 cars.
92 Acura Legend LS 00 Civic EX turbocharged 97 M3 Sedan 92 SE-R (beater) 93 Miata LE (beater) 05 RX-8 Sport 00 S2000 09 Cooper S 06 Elise supercharged 07 BMW 335i Coupe 06 Cayman S 10 GT-R Just added last night- 97 Miata (beater) |

Currently own a 2002 Berlina Black AP1 on full red for my pleasure car. Couldn't be happier with it relative to all the other cars, and some of them were great cars. |
