Which would you choose?
Looking to possibly make a purchase. Just wanted to see what everyone would consider?? Here are the specs.
98 NSX: 55K miles, 6 speed manual, 295 hp. Targa top, kaiser silver/black.
95 NSX: 14K miles, 5 speed manual, 275 hp. targa top, red/black.
both are going for $40K and are in very good condition mechanically and cosmeticaly.
Haven't checked out the NSX market lately, but I guess its a decent deal. The only reason I prefer the 95 cause of the low miles, but everything else. The 98 wins by a landslide.
What would you do? Oh yeah, and for those who follow the NSX market a lot, are these pretty good prices? I don't want to rely on kbb for this type of vehicle.

I'd go with the 98' also. The thing with the NSX motor is that it's like fine wine. It actually ages very well and even after 100,000 miles, still has peak hp. Some cases have even shown a slight increase in power!!
98 overall. If you're not gonna put too many miles on it, then it wouldn't be a bad idea owning a 95 with very low miles. It would be a nice collector, if it has a clean history and perfect condition.
I'd take the 98 though.

I too would go for the 98 car primarily because of the 6-speed and the extra power. I think if I got the 95 I'd be wary of putting any mileage at all on it, since it's only been driven about 1000 miles for every year since purchase. 55k miles on the 98 doesn't sound like a lot of miles to me though. That's only 5-6k miles per year since its purchase.
I think you'd like the 98 more.

If it helps at all, try fining a copy of BMI's VTEC Club DVD. They have a section where they talk about the NSX, how it handles age, and some finer points to look out for when buying a used one.
Rough deal deciding on that. If you don't need financing it's easy, but financing something over 5 years can be difficult and expensive (high % rate). It'd also be hard to go with either over a new Z51 vette which is faster and handles extremely well for about the same price (brand new also!).
