Cannot beat the reliability of the Civic. Wouldn't touch a German car.

Nothing drives quite as good as a German car.

I voted for the GTI but then I'm biased as I've had a Mark VI in the family for close to 2 years now. So far it has been totally reliable with no unscheduled visits to the dealer. I guess we'll see in the long term how it holds up but at the moment I am seriously considering looking at an R for the replacement of my S2000.

I think I'd go for the civic si, never trusted VW's reliability.

I considered both of these, ultimately went with Fiesta ST though.

Honda doesn't make the Si sedan anymore?

I'll be that guy and say Focus ST.

If I expected to keep the car beyond the warranty period, I'd get a Civic SI sedan, though the coupe looks great. The Civic is also priced lower. Not having driven the cars, I'd suspect the VW to be quicker with the added torque and probably handle a bit better. However, I'd expect a lot more reliability problems with the VW. If I was just keeping the car for a short term lease that would keep the car in warranty, I might be tempted to go for the GTI.

This... it's why I just bought my CPO Civic Si sedan

The Si comes in a four door... :ponder:

They do, not quite sure why he implied they don't. I also love the Focus ST.

I really like GTI's, but as mentioned above, I don't trust their reliability and that's important to me. I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of extra power/torque and nicer interior for a car that I know will run a very long time.

Saki GT 09-27-2013 05:41 AM

Actually, I'd take the Focus ST over both.

Regarding the doors comment - I was just thinking about the Golf and that you can get it in a four door. Was poorly worded when comparing...

Ive actually really wanted either this or the Focus ST they released not too long ago. Any thoughts/comments on your car?
