Question The $55k 1993 RX-7?

So this auction is underway at BAT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1993-mazda-rx-7-32/

Currently in the $30s with six days to go, and people expecting it to sell for mid $50s.

Is this more bubble or do you think the real trend for 90s sports cars continues?

That's damn near museum quality and considering what it would take to fully restore one I'm not surprised although not the most desireable color imo.

I would think red is one of the more desirable colors.

Gorgeous car. I've always loved these, even if I'd never own one. Rotary + twin turbo = massive headache for maintenance/reliability.

If I didn't care about money, I'd gladly get one as a toy, though.

I rarely see them in person anymore, but when I do I can't help and sit back and admire how cool they are.

I love 90's sports cars.

Thumbs up

FD RX7s are just now starting to get respect. This is years after prices spiked for Supras and NSXs. CYM R1s are probably the most desirable configuration, but red, while being very common, is still desirable because it looks so damn good!

Oddly enough I think that S2000 prices have been dropping recently (if auction prices on BaT are any indicator).

I think anything around the $40k mark is a steal for that car, how often are examples like this going to become available.

My brother had a 94 that I borrowed quite often, truly a brilliant car. If I had the space and funds I'd go for this one in a heartbeat.

Yeah, if the opportunity presented itself I'd probably swap out the Cayman for an FD.

No wonder Tom Brady gave away his XLR when he won a Super Bowl MVP one year.
