As impressive as that 15,500 is in the YZF R6 I'm equally impressed with my first bike. A 1973 350/4, that had a redline of 13,000, and that was 31 years ago...
If the '00-'03 S is not the highest production redline, then it must be outdone by some very amazing cars!

redline is 8900, fuel cut is 9000 or 9100

It really is 9000. The preproduction S2000 was redlined at 8900, but all of the ones after those are 9000. I know this because those are the stats of an old 2002 Honda S2000 brochure that I have, it clearly says that the redline is 9000. I don't think the brochure would lie.
