Was checking out the 04 TL the other day...and man, seems like pretty good bang for the buck.
Prettly slick interior and the 6 speed tranny is smooth.
Would like to hear some opinions on the car.
How do you think the G35 sedan compares?
Thanks!

Personally, I think the only thing the G35 has on the TL is the fact that the G35 is RWD.
Overall, I'd take the TL. Reliability, build quality, and materials are going to be better, on average, with the TL. Plus, as long as you're not flooring it out of low-speed corners, you're not going to notice the FWD too much.

I just got the TL as a company car...
Good.
- Great modern yet subtle design.
- Build quality on par if not better than a BMW.
- Interior is just awesome.
- Lots of hi-tech toys (although doesn't work half the time, see below).
- Great engine, fast and powerful.
Bad.
- FWD Platform, advertised as a "sports sedan", its nothing like how a true sports sedan should drive and handle.
- Massive torque steer when pushed.
- Handling is decent but worse than the G35 or BMW 3 Series. Its sibling TSX handles better.
- Hi-tech toys do not work too well. The Bluetooth phone wireless connection looses connection all the time. The voice recognition doesn't recognize commands unless you speak very S L O W L Y and YELL it right into the overhead microphone. The salesman at the dealer was giving a demo and saids "Climate Control off." and the audio volume went up. They will probably have a software update to fix these initial bugs.
My impression... Its a great luxury car, but not a sports sedan. If you are more inclined towards performance, handling and drivability then the G35 is the winner hands down. But if you are more inclined towards luxury and features, then the TL.

yeah - but look at the overall numbers - the TL is heavier and torque steers like an MF. I guess it depends if you look at a comfy 4 door as a perf. car - I don't - thats what the S is for

Yo homeboy,
TL all the way to the bank and back. Get the full OEM kit and add some 19" BBS wheels on them and you're set.
The looks of this car is one of the best out there today. G35 is not even a contender.
At this level, it's all about luxury and a bit of sport. TL strikes that balance with aplomb.

In my opinion, the G35 sedan doesn't look that great.
Would rather have a 04 TL than a G35 sedan.
But I do like the G35 Coupe a bit better than the CL.

The TL, much like the previous generation is unfortunatly a wallowing pig when pushed.
If you intend to enjoy driving in a spirited manner, stay away from the oversized accord. Otherwise, the amenities are nice, the seats decent and the engine sounds great.
