Gallardo is a 118-120mph car and the Z06 is 125ish mph 1/4 mile car. Result is no big surprise.

There is a big, scary flaw with the Z06. Magazines are starting to report dangerous snap oversteer abundant in the Z06, very much like with the S2000, except only worse because of much more power. Snap oversteer is very dangerous and I can just see it already--crumbled Z06's on the tracks and streets, but hopefully, not with bodies in them. Ask any S2000 owner who has experienced snap oversteer in their car and they'd say it wasn't very safe. Combined with the power of Z06, I can see it already! Tsk tsk!

It isn't safe in the S2000, but it is what makes the car fun -- at least for me.

As was the case with the S2k I would imagine they will dumb the Z06 down a bit in subsequent years -- a good thing for all but a sad thing to some.
