Was it your daily driver? I've ridden in a '93 and it's an awesome car, but a little on the brutal side. It's almost a pure race car stock. The only real complaint I had was burning my legs with the side exhaust. I would still simply love to have one.

Daily driver now is the S2000 (with snow tires). Back then, I had all kinds of daily drivers - Honda Civic, GMC Tracker, Dodge Polara. In Calgary, unless you can get snow tires for you car, it'll sit in the garage for 5-6 months a year. What people don't seem to consider is that even though you can remove the liability portion of your insurance, any sane person would still maintain fire, theft, etc. during storage and on a car like a Viper, this part of the insurance is the bulk of any policy. I can no longer justify paying that kind of money for insurance on a car I don't drive for many months a year. I buy 'em to drive 'em. Looking at 'em sitting in the garage is a rich man's game.
As for the side exhaust - you learn to do a kind of ballet dance step getting in and out and it becomes natural. The ride? Yeah, it was bone jarring but again, you learn to grit your teeth and hold onto your kidneys.
Oh, and another deterent to keeping the car too long - rear tires were, at that time, $700.00 Can. each. I am NOT independently wealthy, but every car nut, at least once in his/her like .must own something like this even if it means eating wieners & beans & hamburger for a while. Thanks for the memories.

This, too, is an "ENGINE"!
It may not be as high tech as the S2000 engine but with 500 stock, right out of the box HP, who really cares?

(Do you think you could shoehorn one into my S?)

What a massive engine. Just think 500 horses with 500 throw you in the trunk torque in a stock engine. I can smell the horses from here. Yes smell the horses. Thanks xviper for the photos, plus I didn't know they had a forum also. I've looked for one before with no luck. Sweet another forum to spend quality internet time at work. Thanks again.

I gotta say I think the new styling is a huge mistake. It looks like a sporty jaguar or something now, not the raging beast is was born as. Too sad..
