Default 2004 Grand-Am Cup Racing

The Grand-Am Cup Series features production cars straight off the showroom floor. With only minimal racing modifications to enhance performance and safety, these race cars are developed directly from the very same streetcars that many race fans will most likely drive to the track. The Grand-Am Cup Series features two classes of cars with teams racing for top honors both overall and in their respective class.

The quicker Grand Sport (GS) class features sports cars and popular muscle cars battling against each other for the overall win. Porsches enter the fray against other imports like the BMW M3, Audi S4, Nissan 350Z and Lotus Esprit. The teams of imports also face off against an impressive contingent of American iron in the Grand Sport class, with cars like the Cadillac CTS-V, Mustang Cobra SVT, Pontiac Firebird and Saleen Mustang.

The Sport Touring (ST) class features a wide array of imports and domestics. SpeedSource will enter four Mazda RX-8s into an action packed battle against other imports like the Mazda 6, Lexus IS300, Nissan Sentra SE-R and Acura RSX-S and Integra R. BMW fans will have four different models to check out during the race with the BMW Z3, 330i, 330ci and 328i all racing for top honors in the Sport Touring class. The Mini Cooper S is always a fan favorite in the class, as well as the Dodge Neon SRT-4.

Damn NSX's- they don't ever qualify in the top 10. Atleast they are trying.

The overall manufacturer's points are very informative:

Porsche dominates the GS class with 105 points. Next are Nissan (81), Ford (73), and BMW (71).

The ST class is more competive, with BMW in front (99 points) followed by Acura (91), Mazda (85) and Lexus (82).

I wouldn't call any of them factory-backed though.
