Default 2005 6.0L SSR

Basically the current SSR is a joke. To add insult to injury Chevy is upping the power to 390hp 405-TQ 6.0L corvette engine and new available 6-speed MT.

Previously it came with a 5.3L V8 290hp and 325-TQ

So now we get the truck we've been saying it should have been from the get go.

0-60 5.9sec 1/4mile sub 14sec.

That's what I call a hot rod truck.

Same reason the Z3, Z4 came with crap engines at first. Same reason they did it with the Crossfire and a dozen other cars, people love new designs and will buy them with the small engines for the looks. Most manufacturers save something for a few years in to the production to get more customers.

This is definitely how the car should have been in the first place. As long as the price doesn't go up much (already really expensive for a toy) it should pick up sales.

just about every SSR review I've read comments on the shoddy construction...creaks, gaps, etc.

Have they fixed that?

Not much of a truck fan...but I'd rather have an F-150 Lightning if I had to choose.

Although the addition of more power is very good thing for this truck, the price is still too high for what you get. With the lightning and Dodge SRT being not so far off in price and much better looking, I don't see this helping sales much.
