The RDX is a great little vehicle...handles pretty well and maintains decent driving dynamics but as others have mentioned, it gets worse mileage than an MDX.

Victory. I managed to convince them to test drive a 2006 BMW 530XI.
We test drove the X3 yesterday and while it was nice the interior is pretty cramped. We sat in a 530XI and it seemed more comfortable-spacious.
Now if the 530XI drives smoother than the X3 it's a done deal.

if you can get over the badge - Hyundai Tuscon. 2011. 31mpg hwy. Looks good in person, decent interior. That's my next car.
The 2011 Kia Sportage is also ALL new, I'd look at that too.

Ok I can understand people recommending the RDX and MAYBE even the Forester but how can you point a guy asking about an X3 towards a Kia Sportage?
I personally don't find BMWs to be desirable. The only 2 BMWs I would even consider is the new Z4 and the 135 convertible. I'm not anti-bimmer, I just feel they're over-hyped and that in the end, you're paying premium $ for the badge.
I dislike the X3 very much. The only thing going for it is in fact the brand.... So I wouldn't consider it.

the X3 isn't even made by BMW so the craftsmanship isn't "BMW like".
If that doesn't bother you, then by all means...
